Prendegast m command of the expedition, reports that when about 3(hmiles belew Mandalay, he was met by an envoy from King Theebaw, who asked for armistice. General Prendegast demanded the complete surrender of the Burmese army and town of Mandalay. Whereupon the King promised to accede to the demands, and tendered his sub mission to the British.
