During the elections at Nottingham party feeling ran very high, and culminated m a riot, during which 50. persons were injured. Nov. 28. Up to the present the Liberals claim 129 seats, the Tories 127, and the Parnellites 18. Mr Gladstone has been returned by a majority of 4600, and the Marquis of Hartington by 1800. Sir William Macarthur, who sat m the last Parliament for Lambeth, has been defeated, being at the bottom of the poll. The Hon. Evelyn Ashley has also been defeated. Glasgow and Nottingham have returned all Liberals., Belfast returned Tories. Messrs Justin McCarthy and F. Sexton have been defeated. Mr O'Dohertv has been returned unopposed, as was Mr Berry, tor Belfast.
