John Barnes was elected Mayor by a majority of 165 over Spedding. Hokitika, Wednesday. A very keen contest for the Mayoralty election resulted m the election of Mr J«hn Tait.' The votes were Tait, 172 ; Michel, 166. Gbbymouth, Thursday. Nancarrow defeated Blackinore for Mayoralty by 209 to 82.
