The Siberian Goldfield.
A semi-official paper named the Sibir f published m Siberia, supplies some interesting particulars of a eoramunity* of cold diggers which has lately sprung up \ on the south oftheXmobr. Until the middle of last, winter the Clunesn authorities were unaware that a goldiield had been discovered on their territory, and when they sent a small detachment of troops to assert their rights, the diggers— wjio are largely composed of American and Australian, miners &n& recruits from the African diamond 'fields --tried ineffectually to; buy them off. The bribes offered were apparently insufficient,; for the Chinese have now, sent a force of 10,000 men from Manehoom to com pel, the diggers to submit, on- pain 6( being attacked' as 1 soon as tnfe ice begins to, break up.in the Ainoor, preventing the, miners from escaping to Bussian territory. Th« goldfield is so rich that the name of Asiatic California has been applied to it. Russian officials, are stated, to have purchased, np to the * beginning; of summer, over 26001 bof gold, at the< rate of £45 the troy pound. The digger* have established a sort' of rough : democratic republic, and appointed a President. They are well armed, and likely to resist the Chinese. r . • \
