FOURTH DAY.
(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH — COPYBaXPHT (REDTER'S TELEGRAMS). Melbourne, Saiwday. The last dray's races of the V.R.C.. Soring meeting took place to-day at Fletnington. There was a good atten r dance of the public, and the various events were well contested, the racingbeing of a verygood descripiion. . -: The Mares' Produce Stakes— Remus 1, Arsenal 2, Ringmaster 3. The Flemingtbn Stakes— Damocles 1, telephone. 2, : Dividend 3. The V.R.C.. Handicap, Brown and Rose 1, Sheet Anchor 2, Lesbia 3. The Steeplechase— Lizette 1, Bob Cooper 2, Native 3. The Canterbury Plate— Trenton 1, Nordenfeldt . 2, Isonouoy 3. Six horses started for this event, which was the closest contest on the .day's programme. A magnificent finish all the way up the straight resulted m Trenton winning a desperate race by a short neck. Free Handicap— Cerise and Blue 1, The Agent 2, Iralee 8.
