The North Canterbury Board of Education resolved yesterday that the holders of scholarships who reside within two miles of a public secondary schqol should . receive .£2O per annum ; within five miles/ .625 ; and beyond five miles, £40. This etnables the Board to give 18 scholarships. , -•■.-. . ! The Hon. E. Richardson left for Wellington by .the Waihora last night. Dunedin, Friday. The contractor of the Harbor Board •was charged at the Police Court with trespassing on Goat Island, and damaging the same by tiring a blast.
