-- Hobiri Hood's final consultation closed with .36,375 members at 10s. each. We have been favoured- with the"' usual copy of results. The net amount jto be divided uoioilg prize winners is £16,368. There were 1814 prizes allotted, sb that j tile odds were about 20 to 1. Thej allot- I ndent was as follows : — Melbourne Cup, I Ist, £3273; 2nd, £1,309 ; 3rd, £654; starter s(divided), i' 654 ; non-starters (divided), 654. New. Zealand Cup, ;lst prize, £654 ; others m proportion. New Zealand Derby, 7 1st prize, £392 ; otbJers l m proportion. Canterbury " Gupi Ist prize, £261 ; others m proportion. There were besides 5 cash bonds at £65 each ; 20 at £32 each ; 200 at M ; and 1,300 at £3, (shillings and pence having been omitted). Holders ot. tickets • obtained at the Standard office can inspect the. result slip at this office. The mass of figures is so formidable that we ourselve have not yet had time or opportunity to compare; the numbers/ with; of* ■ticlrets Sent to us" for disposal. (The drawing was conducted by. a committee of over 100 shareholders from all jiarts ] of New Zealand at the .Foresters,'^ Ilall, Christohuroh. The following journal? had representatives present :— The Auckland Star, Otago Witness, Canterbury Thnes, Press, and Weekly VresSj-.Te.e-graph, and New Zealand Referee. The ; Press of Saturday, October 31st says : — The final event m" connection with the Robin Hood pomoanyi .which has deservedly earned the title of. the Napoleon" of Consultation Proprietors, took. place yesterday when the Consultation on ,the Melbourne Cup, the. New Zealand and lOanterbury Cups, "&c M " was' drawn. There were 36,375 shares taken up out of 50,000 shares offered, and that this was done m seven weeks speaks volumes for the confidence which the public generally haye m the Bold Outlaw and hiS Merry Men. A ' committee* of the subscribers was appointed to conduct, the drawing, which considering the very large number of ballots to be manipulated '.so many times over— as each race was drawn separately, as well as the various series of cash bonds — entailed a considerable amount of labour upon the gentlemen of f the committee.. ; However; the longest day has an ending, and ultimately all the numbers m the mammoth programme were successfully placed, and the lucky winners m perspective as^ certained. The .following resolution was unanimously carried at the adjournment for refection :— t: Tbat subscribers present at the final drawing of the serieuof Consultations projected and carried out so satisfactorily by the Eobin Hood Company desire to £estify their hi£h. appreciation of the admirable manner jin which the. drawings: have always been conducted. They especially wish to record this on the present occasion r it bioins? on the x largest scale ever yet attempted m the Colonies.
