A NEW DEPARTURE.
(to the editor op the standard.) Sib, — Is it customary for the Palmerston Court-house to be nsed.for dancing purposes ? lam credibly informed that a few nights ago a private hall actually took place m the Temple of Justice, as it is called. My informant is not given to bolieve overy idle rumor that is guing about, but he maintains that what he told me actually occurred. I have not learnt whether the Magistrate, Inspector of Police, Clerk of the Court, or other officials were among the invited guests, but should like very much to know.— l aw, &c, : On the Hop.
