There is probably no art or industry which be quires— for the production of good work— greater care and attention to details than does the nrt of photography.' The public are little aware of' the numerous appliances and processes used m a first class photographic establishment. A visit to Mr Martin's studio at Wanganui will prove' this to be ro. for it is here we .find numerous rooms, each having its own departmental work and a staff of assistants to carry on that work. We also find electricity is employed m producing the beautiful stippled effect for which Mr Martin's work is so much admired. But the most interesting mid, we mu«t say.t o our mind, the most complicated prorcs* is tJmt of enamelling; the marvellous beauty imparted to the photograph by this process is truly astonishing. Aiirt we arc nssurred by Mr Martin tint the enamelling not only produces this beautiful appearance, but renders the picture permanent by mejins of its air-ticrht and damp-proof coatinpr. A, visit to Wanganui. if. for nothing «>lse than to be; photographed at Mr Martin's, would be n highly atisfactory way of spending a day.— rADVT.i
