On Sunday mVht the caretaker's house lat East Ohristchurch Main School was burned down through the explosion of a kerosene lamp. It belonged to tbe f Education Board, and was uninsured. The caretaker, McCausland, had his furniture insured m the New Zealand Office for £160. Very little of it was, saved.
