He'hlihg^a'hilriWf^ia'Wmao^ii^ne^ house:' He has written two -letters', one stating that -the - act y>jvras taken through his misdeeds, and the other a farewell to his wife, children, and grandchildren. It. seems that the poor fellow gave a lease of some quarry land at Greyniouth illegally, which should have been given by the Public Trustee. He magnified the consequences of the act, and that pressing on his mind, urged him to commit the fatal deed.
