RUSSIA AND ENGLAND.
So far as our (says the London Times of July), best information goes the following is an accurate statement of the different bodies of troops at or near Zulfikar. The Afghan detachment m the Zulfikar Pass was withdrawn some months ago to Griilran, where it still remains, but a small body is believed to have recently moved forward to Karez Elias. The Russians at Ziilfikiir probably number about 1,500 men. They have been placed as high as 3.000 and as low as 1,200 men. At Akrobat they have two or three hundred men. Nothing is known as to Russian movements on the Khusk stream m the direction of Chaman i-baid, and, m fact, our sources of information about events beyond the Paropamisus are extremely .clencient.
