MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON'S FORT NIGHTLY STOCK REPORT.

At Waverlev on Friday the yards were fairly well- filled witli cattle. The bidr ding at the auction wbs dull, but I succeeded m placing nearly all the stock afterwards at current rates. No sheep caino forward. . At St. Hill-street Yards a largo entry made up the sale, and the stock was of first class quality. The bidding was brisker than at Waverlev, though the' bulk of the stock was sold after the auction. Prices for cattle were maintained, but sheep receded fully Is and Is 6d per head. At the Saturday sales, nearly all the horses offered were sold, and ihe bidding was good throughout the auction. Poultry ot all description brought full values ; all that offered selling readily with keen competition. Cattle.— At Waverley, forward cows, made £3 3s 6d ; breeding cows, £2 30s and £2 15s ; heifers m calf, j-2 10s ; steers, £3 10s. At St. Hill-street, forward 3-yr-old bullocks, £o 12s 6d ; 3-yr-old stores, £4 8s ; 2-yr ; old steers, £3 9s ; cows m calf, £2 19s ; yearlings, 355. Sheep.— Fat ewes and wethers, 13s ; store clittoj lls ; wethers, 12s 6d ; shorn wethers and ewes, 8s ; fat lambs, 9s 6d tolOsGd. Pigs.— Good porkers, 17s to 225 ; young store pigs, 9s 6d ; a superior breeding sow, £2 17s 6d. Horses.— Good hacks, £8 to £13 10s ; unbroken light .horses, £6 to £7 ; weeds and screws, £2 to M. Poultry.— Fowls, 3s 6d to 4s 3d the couple ; ducks, 4s 6d per pair. Harness and saddlery made fair prices. Socond-hand buggies, £15 to J;18.
