Annual Horse Fair and Parade.
The annual parade of entires took place on Satunlav lnst prior to the sale of horses lipina: held by Messrs Snelson and Co. at Tattersall's' Stables. The attendance was the largest that has yet patronised the annual fair. The stallions hav!ng proceeded round the Square were paraded m. the paddock. at the rear of the stables m Rancitikei-atreet, and each one's pedigree read by the 'auctioneer m the following order : — Southern Chief,. Ananias, Somnus, Diomedes, Traitor, Morpheus, Lord Bangor. Sir Robert Bruce, Pride of Sandon, General Havelock, Watchman, and Quicksilver. The horse sale was then immediately proceeded with.
