Daring Robbery at a Bank.

A danngrobbery has been committed at the Royal Bank of Hamburg. An individual, who appeared to be an Englisman, lately presented himself to one . of the two cashing clerks to change some money. The clerk was alone, as liis colleague had just gone out. Shortly afterwards two other strangers came into the office, and said they wished to speak with the clerk who had iust left, and they were told he would soon return, when they asked permission to remain, which was assented' to, They sat down on a bench, and opening, two large newspapers, feigned to commence reading. ,The newspapers ser -ed them as a sort of |a screen, for, it is believed, one of the two last comers managed to creep u'pperceived'to the safe where the bank notes were kept, and possess himself . _, of two rolls of bank notes for 100,000 marks. After this the three men : went away, and they had scarcely left the building before the theft was discovered and the alarm given. The* authorities on being informs 1 ! came to the bank •with Dr Braband liitor m the evening* to prosecute inquiries into the matter/ All £he_ clerks were questioned, and with their lodgings, searched, but without result. All the railway stations and steamboat quays were afterwards watched, equally without avail. There are yet some hopes of capturing the thieves, who had already attempted robberies at other Hamburg banks. The police, m the meanwhile, have offered a reward of eight thousand marks for the apprehension of the thieves or the recovery of the stolen money.
