Waste Lands Board.

A meeting of the Land Board was held on Thursday morning, at the offices, Provincial 4 Buildings,' Wellington. There were present— Messrs X W. A. Marchant (m the chair). (J.. Beethatn, M.H.R., T. Mason, W. W- McOardle, and W. A. Fitzherbert. The Chief Surveyor .reported that the portion of the Pahiatua .Township Reserve, fronting sections 2, 5, 7, and 9. blocks 1 and 4, Makuri, will probably form part of sections which will front the Mangarauiarama road. It was resolved to deal with the matter when the reserve is cut up. The Chairman informed the meeting that roads had now been located through sec tions 1 to 6, Eketahuna, and recommended that the Ranger be requested to appraise the value of the sections m terms of section 164 of the Land Act, 1877. This action was approved. The Manawatu Road Board submitted an offer to expend the sum of. £296 7s, being One third: of paid up instalments on several sections in.the Kairaranga Survey District., On the motion of Mr Bunny, seconded by Mr Fitzherbert, it was resolved that the approval -of the owners of the sections" interested be laid before the Board. A return of lands sold since January, 1884, asked for by Mr McCardle, was laid on. the table, showing that the area spld under deferred payments had been 10,384a 3r lip, under perpetual lease 10,017a lr 35p, and for cash, 14,333a 2r 39p. The Board then adjourned.
