(TO THE EDJTOR OF THE STANDARD.) :Si9,-r-t hope the Times *nd its party are at length satißfied, the Loan having collapsed. The public now see who are the**' friends.- And some pretend that there is no depression. Is there not an old saying to the effect that the beggar laughs before the robber ? One- of our oldest residents told me a few days ago that tor, anything he could see m the near future for Palmergton he wished to Heaven he was at Jericho put of it, is only one of the things " for the gocki of *: the ' place " that certain persons have lent' a willing hand to bring about.
