(rbuteb's telegrams.) Londonv Sept; 1 lv Lord Carington was entertained at a farewell banquet last evening at the Beaconsfield Club. The Agents-General for the various Colonies were among the guests. Lord Carington m his speech, replying to the toast of the evening, referred to the Colonies, eulogised their recent offers of aid to the British Government, and said that the lion's cubs lia'd proved themselves a worthy offspring of the -'Mother-Country. Lord Eosebery also spoke, and expatiated upon the desirableness and advantages of federation. Sir Saul Samuel, replying to the toast of the Agents General, welcomed Lord Carington as the new Governor of New South Wales. . .
