Road Board Meeting.

(Continuation of Report.) A list of the Acts required by th« Board was supplied by the Engineer and after discussion it was decided to write to Mr Macarthur and ' endeavor to gef supplied gratis with those most necessary. The Slaughter-house Insnectnr's reporf was read. The two slaughter houses m the district had been visited and were found to be m good condition. Ths fee? received were j. Beale £1 Os lid, and F. T. Collins, 8* 7d. The Clerk was instructed to advertise to ratepayers that accounts would he rendered and that unless receipts were pro dueed showing payment amounts would be sued for. The Secretary was also instructed to have printed fresh rate notices specifying more clearly the particulars of the application and also on separate forms for both special and ordinary rates. The Crown Lands Department wrote m reply to application for £2dti 7s statins" that the Board should submit proposal? tor the expenditure of the money. A statement from tins Department was also received showing the deferred-pay-ment (thirds) Kairanga Survey District accrued capitalized sections as follows : — Section 1540, £121 14s 8d ; 15BS, £5 10s : 1530, £13 12s; 1012. £1 7s 81 ; 1552. £1 6s 3d : 1575. £2 /is f)d : 1577, £2 8s 7d ; 1587, £52 4s 8,1 : 1580, £45 10s Od : 1550, £2 16.4 8d : IGOO, £46 Is 4d ; 1568. £1 8s Bd. It was resolved that a petty cash bi:>k should he kept by the Clerk to be produced at each monthly meeting of the Board. Mr Alters snggesfel that applications ho made for £650 under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act for expenditure on Millcrick's Line. A letter from Mr Collins was read re gravel pit Rangitikei Line. No action was taken. Accounts amounting to £93 4s 3d were passed f>r payment. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Colonial Secretary re Charitable Aid requesting payment of present and past accounts. Mr Sheerin waited on the Board re bridge over Bo mlary Road. The applicant was referred to the Borough Council. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Colonial Treasurer for particulars of debentures for which the Road Board is liable for district and main roads.
