The Wellington-Manawatu Railway.
On Monday fortnight, 14th September the Wellington and Manawntn Railway Company will commence to run trains as far a&Parratnala station, adistanc- oP 16 miles from Thorndon. Two trains will be despatched to Paramatta each day The first will leave at 7.5 a.m., roaching its destination at 7.25. After the 14th proximo, the terminus of Cohb and Co.'s Wellington-Foxtmi service will be Paramatta instead of Wellington, and the passengers and mails from and for Foxton will be carried between Parramatta and Wellington by rail. Under the present arrangements the morning coach leaves Wellington at 5 o'clock, but after the 14th passengers will not start on their journey until 7.5. The train which leaves at this hour returns from Parramntta at 8.5 a.m.. getting m to town at 9.15 a.m. The afternoon train to Parramatta leaves at 2 30, and starts on the return journey at 4.15. reaching Wellington an hour later, and bringing m Cobb and Co.'s Foxton paßscngers The ordinary single fares on the Wellington-Pairamatta section an; to be as follows: — first-class, 3s 4d ; sßCond-dass, 2s 3t!.. The trains which leave for Parramatta are to call, of course, at Johnsonviilo. In addition to these, howevur, the company intend to run two others between Jolinsonvillo and Wellington each day. The first will leave at 11.30 a.m., starting from Johnsonville at 12.15 p.m. The other is to start from Wellington at 5.30 p.m., leaving oti the return journey at G. 15. There are also to be two tiains to Parramatta each Sunday. The first will leave at 8.30 a.m., starting on the return journey at 9,50. The other is to go out at 2.30 p.m., leaving Johnsonville at 5.25, and reaching Wellington at 6.15. The re: urn fares on We.dnes" days, Saturdays, and Sundays, will be as follows : — Wellington Parramntta Sec-tion-First-class 4s 4>! ; second-class 2s lid. Wellington Johnsonvillfi Sec-tion—First-class Is6d ; second-class Is. — Vost.
