Sir,—l noticed m your last night's issue^that yoxi.liada letter from me re the < * Bbrbugfrstatiotiery question; 'and as Web.. is being looked upon by several .persons as at contradiction of the statements made by me to the. Council, I write you these i_ few lines m consequence. Messrs Welchi. & Co. wished me to contradict the same, that I told them I did riot intend to do - but would state how the'matter;-then stood, and since then the evidence' -I: have obtained from the individuals con- . cerned, still leaves me of opinion that I should riot be speaking the- truth if Pdid - so: Hoping you will insert the above.— lam,&c, ; E. Larcomb. Aug. 27th, 1885. [We think Mr Larcomb had better , left this affair to be settled among the parties concerned, and as no public advantage can be. gained hy further correspondence on the matter, we must request that discussion of the subject m our columns be discontinued^—Ed.
