The International Telegraph Conference have approved of a uniform tariff for telegrams throughout Europe. . A great meeting was held m Hyde Park to consider the question of protection to girls. The German corvette Augusta, bound for Australia, has foundered at sea, and two hundred and thirty of her crew have been drowned. The Augusta left Kiel m April last, and was bound for Albany. < -. Aug. 24. A thousand dervishes are now at Dongola. It is considered probable that Spain will retain possession of the western and Germany the eastern portion of the Caroline Islands.
