Taupo News.

(Herald Correspondent.) Taupo, Monday. Since the fatal boat accident, which resulted m the drowning of Mr Ashman, two or three parties have been dragging the lake, but without success. All hopes are now given up as to the recovery of the body of the unfortunate gentleman. The telegraph line of two wires between Taupo and Cambridge is now completed. Two hundred and sixty head of fat cattle arrived to-day from McHardy's station, Hawke's Bay, en route for the Auckland market. This is the largest mob of cattle that has passed through m one drove. At the native meeting now being held at Kotaira, religions discussions appear to bo the order of the day, and the individutilising of land at the coining Land Court. The natives are anxiously enquiring when that Court will be held.
