Sudden Death.
' A man named Noil Witkie : not long arrived here from Sydney, was found dead yesterday morniug aifew yards from the tents of the men employed ow the ■railway contract at Tokomaru. The unfortunate man had left his companions on the previous Saturday evening, to go to his house near the bridge, and at that time was m high spirits, and did not seem to .have anything wrong with him. He must have been attacked, very suddenly, as he was found close to the tents quite dead, and no marks of violence perceptile. It is surmised that the cause must be heart disease, The deceased was a brother of the Messrs Wilkie, contrrctors, and was married with a family of five. Mr Robert Henderson walked into Palmerston last evening, and gave inf ormatsbn of the affair to the coroner Mr .G;.M. Shelsbn. Messrs Snelson, Dr Macantire, Constable Manning, and R. Henderson, proceeded by trap to Longburn this forenoon, and were taken on by train* to the scene of the accident.
