The football match" Town v. Country, at Manaia on Saturday last (says the Hawera Star) resulted m- a victory for the country by Something like three gaols and' two trie* to a goal. The towns were weak behinriffehe scrimmages, having really no backs; whilst Good, for the conntrv, ran through wherever he choosed.
The Wanaranui Herald says that a football match hag been arranged for Saturday between the Star Football Club and a team of Marton players. The following will represent the Stars. Fullhack, J. Keen ; quarter-backs. W.'Spurdle, and C. Aamodt; half-backs, J. Dallas (captain), A. Mailman, and B. Burrell ; forwards, J. Hall, W. Hall, W. Loinax, I). McGregor, J. Pnrnell, W. Holden, H. McKinnonT H. Pedwell, and T. Maurice ; waiting men, J. Watt, F. Schulfcz, and J. Armstrong. The match will be played at Marton.
