In both Houses of Parliament last night, votes of thanks was unanimously passed to tho British forces engaged m the Engyptian Campaign for their wrvices; In the House of Lords the principal speeches were made by the Marquis of Salisbury, l the Duke of Cambridge, Karl Huntingdon, and Lord Carrington ; and m the House of Cbmmohß,' Sir- Michael Hicks-Beach, Chancellor of the Exechequer. All of whom lauded the E-allan- ' try. of the New South "Wales Contingent, iand asserted; that the- loyalty shewn by . the British colonies was adding new strength to the Empire. , . : Itisstated s that Major Chernside, it under orders s to proceed to, Massowkh to act in.concert with the Abyssinian forcM m taking steps to relieve Kassala.
