There is probably no art or industry which requires — for the production of tgood •work— greater care and attention to details than does the nrfc of photography. The public are little n.waro of the numerous a pplianecs mi-l processes used m a firstclass photographic establishment. A visit to Mr Martin's studio at TVimgiimii will prove this to bo so, for it is here we find numerous rooms, each having its own departmental work and a staff of assistants to carry on that work. Wo r.lso find electricity is employed m producing the beautiful stippled effect for which ~Mr Martin's work is so much admired. But the most interesting and, we nmst say. to onr'mind, the most complicated process is that of enam'-lling ; the marvellous beauty imparted to the photograph by this process is' truly astonishing. And we arc nssnnvd by Mr Martin that the enamelling not only nroduens this boautifnl appearance, but renders tho picture permanent by means of its air-tight and d'lmp-prrjnf coating. A visit to Wanganui. if for nothing else than to be photographed at Mr Martin's, would bo a highly satisfactory way of spending a day. — fA'DVT.I
