The Waikato police who went to excute the 'warrants taken out by Mr Fallon, the contractor for the Botorua railway, against the natives guilty of obstructing the work, have returned to the Waikato with six natives m custody. On reaching the bridge where the offence was committed, the police found no natives about and went on tojthe settlement, Sergeant M'Govern stated the object of: his- visit and advised the natives to come, m peacefully, which they consented to do and they arrived with the police at Mornsville, en route for Hamilton. Dunedin, Monday. ;/r The glove fight between Baymond, of Wellington, and Davis, a local man, turned out a fiasco. Raymond would not turn out at first, saying he was sick ; and when hp did it was seen ho knew little of boxing, bur as he was bigger than Davis he stood five rounds. No judges were present, and each claimed to have won. There was an extremely small attendance.
