(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Melbourne, July 27. The Government has decided to make several important alterations m the armament of the forts. A n^w fort for the defence of the South Channel is to be erected, mounted with two 9 inch and two G-inch breech-loading guns, and, to cost £110,000.
