Stevens and Gorton's Report.
We have great pleasure m reporting that bur stock sale; at .^ills on the, 21st instant was, without doubti for 'thfst'season of the year, the most successful we have : ever held m pur business. The attendance .was unusually large, and the bidding throughout for cattle and sheep; was spirited. The class of stock was good and brought higher rates than we have obtained for some years. "We yarded over 150 head of cattle, 2456 head of sheep, and 50 horses, and told nearly everthirig under the hammer. We quote the following satisfactory rates:— Cattle.— Fat cows, £4 16s to £5 2s 6d ; store cows, £2 12s 6d ti> £2 17s 6d; milch cows, j£3 15s to £4 10b ; 2^-yr-old steers, £3 12s; 2£. to 3-yr steers, £4 ;2$ r yr mixed, ss ; 3-yr heifers, £3 6s; 18-months mixedi £2 ; niixed weanera, 335. - ■ ■ ;'•■ ! ,/, •.... ■:.:::.,:■■■.■-. . Sheep.— Fat wethers, i2aßdtbl3s6d; fat sheep, 11s 3d to. 12s 6d ; ewes m lamb (mixed ages), 12s 4d io 13s 2d ; ewes m lamb, 9s; dry ewes, lOi; store wethers, 10s 7d to 10s 9d. . . Horses.7T-SavjijßSs, < hqrses, £10 10s to £15 10s : colts and erne's, £6 to £18 10s; Maori horses 25s per head.
