Palmerstpa, and Foxton, with a view of giving an impetus to the game, it has been decided to play fora cap, subscribed for equally amongst these clubs. This cup will have to be won two years m succession, or thre6 times at intervals before it can become the property of either club. At present the following cup matches, have been played ; on June 20th, Palmerstbn v. Foxton; June 27th, Feilding v. Marton ; July.lith, Feilding v. Foxton; the first-named, clubs have been victorious m" each game. Palmerston v. Marton was' tb have been i played here m July 4thr but Marton was not able to -play.-..-.. On Saturday July 18th Feilding will^piay Palmerston. on the ground. q;ffCuba r stre.et and we shall hope to see a well-contested game, : as these teams have, so often been fitted against one another. After the . ruatch on Saturday the team will be selected to playfor the.
