Stevens and Gorton's Report.
We held yesterday one of the most succeßsf ul sales we have had for some time m Palmerston. The atte*dance was very large, the .bidding spirited throughout. More stock was. yarded^thad' advertised and much more could HayS been dfeposed of than yarded as there were buyers from all parts of the coast. We sold every pin pf cattle excepting one or two milkers and every pen of sheep excepting one of ewes m lamb passed m at 10«. We quote following rates which show a decided lmprovebaent m the prices pf cattle. : — : Cattle.— Beef, ±'5 18s 6d to £6 15s; forward bullocks, £5 12s 6d to £6 ; 2 to 3-yr Bteera, £3 145.; 2-yr helfei^,'£2 \%% Si i?^s'%si KS ■* f f *!#*' «4*§B io t £^ ; |8.-n^qii^ t cliififly ljeifers, 375; yearling, heifers, £1 fs; niised weaiiersj £1 Bs. •-■.-....
