This would b<3 ; all. the better for the" parties now mo/ring, for the people -of r-W an- ;- iarahui would be then oh their side, and' as Wanganui had already' once bought the insurance companies to their terms th«v would not be diffident m making strong resistance to the extortion. A hearty vote of thanks to the Palmerston delegates for Jihe^attendance was passed, and <Wjey were assured that the people of Feildinir felt deeply grateful to those b±- Palmer^ ton for the cordial assistance vouchsafed on this and other pccasiqns.
