There, is probably no art or industry which re-qnires^-for the. production of good work — greater . care and attention to details than docs the art of i photography. The public are little aware of tho numerous appliances and processes used iir a firstclass photographic establishment. A visit to Mr Martin's studio at Wangauui will prove tliis to be so,, for it is Jiere we find numerous rooms, each havirig\ its own departmental work and a staff- of assistants to cany on that work. "We also find electricity is employed m prodnoing the beantiful ; stippled effect for Which -,Mr- Martin's.' work is spf much admired. But the most interesting and, we must say; to our mind, the mo3t complicated process is that of enamelling ; the raai'vellons beauty imparted to the photograph by this process is truly astonishing. And we are assurred by Mr ' Martin;r tin ; that the enamelling, nob only produces this beautiful a'ppearanfce, but renders the picture permanent by means of its air-tight and damp-proof conting. A visit to Wangauni, if for nothing else than to be photographed at Mr Martin's, would be a : highly, satisfactory way of spending a day. — [ApvT.] '!,' •' "Baxter's Lurig Preserver, enjoys an'unparalleled success !
