Mr A. Me Minn, the editor of the Standard, Who has been m failing health for some considerable time past, has been compelled to discontinue his journalistic labours altogether for a short time and talce much needed rest and obtain some absolutely, hecessary change,. JVVhat with recent sickness m his/iamijy, and twro bereavements following closely upon each other, and the incessant mental strain incidental to the arduous nature of his professional calling, the result has been a narrow escape from a complete breakdown; the symptoms being aggravated by chronic insomnia from which Mr/McM'iM'N hss been suffering for several "weeks past. He is nb'w absent on a horseback tour iri the north, being quite unable to stand the vibration of railway travelling. ; From a " letter received from him last r riigntj it ! would appear that the symptoms which gave most cause for apprehension had slightly abated, and sleep was .gradually , returning, lender the circumstance's it is hoped bur readers will excuse, any, comings m the editorial columns.
