From a Wellington paper we learn that extreme dissatisfaction with the financial proposals of the Government seems to exist mi. all sides among members of Parliament; indeed, this feeling seems to deepen rather than lessen. It; is freely stated that 'the Government have received, a distinct /intimation 'that the nevr tariff and the .local subsidies scheine^ will not; be allowed '^6; tfass, an abso-* lute majority of hoii. members havv: ing pledged themselves to vote -against these .'mc«isurbs whatever might be the resultv 6f their rejection. There is, 1 we believe, no wish to turn out ' the Government just now; but even at 'this cost, the. pi\c£' posals will be resisted. 'It is practically certain, however, that Ministers will consent to very large modifications of their 6riginal ; "sclieme, and it is probable that /concessions may be made of a sufficiently" wide\ nature to satisfy the views of a majority, m the.
