MR FREEMAN R JACKSON'S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT.
Wednesday. • The yards to-day were full of useful stock, the bidding for cattle was slow but better for sheep. A number of pens were passed at the auctions, but all found buyers afterwards, a few pen of sheep being turned out unsold. Prices rule on a par with those of last auction. No alteration m the value of horses, I sold about. one third of the entries. Pigs were m large supply ; vendors had to submit to a reduction m prices, of about 2s to 4s per head. I beg to notify that m future no horses or sundries will be offered at the St. Hill-street Wednesday sales, and that I intend holding a sale of horses, drays, harness, and poultry every Saturday at n#on, commencing on Saturday, July 4th. The following are the quotations for stock : — Cattle.— Fat cows, MB 16a to £4 2s 6d ; forward bullocks, £5 ss ; 2-yr-old steers and heifers, £2 15s Gd ; heifers, 18s ; cows and calves, £2 16s ; weaners, 28s. Sheep.— Fat ewes. 103 8d to 11 ; forward wethers, 11s 2d to 11s 3d ; ewes m lamb 10s 9d ; inferior ewes, Bs. j Pigs. — Porkers, 14s to 19s 6d ; larger sorts, 395 ; small pigs; 5s 6d to 10s. Horses. — Weight-carrying hacks, 10s ; others, £5 to ; screws and weeds, £2 to £4.
