Recognition of Heroism.
Some of our staid City Fathers are not above enjoying their little joke. During yesterday a round-robin was hastily got up and signed, and formally presen+ed to Cr Abr&hama, setting forth that he had done his duty like a valiant hero m opposing the payment of Mr Fenton's account. The document was duly sent to the little Cr, who forthwith dried his tears, and began to feel like himself a«ain after the chagrin and humiliation he experienced at the Council meeting on Friday. Some jokist wickedly proposed that he publish the document, and straightaway he carried out the suggestion, givin* the public a hearty laugh last nfeht. The Councillors to-day were smilinpall over their faces at the success of the plot, and the victim looked more woe-begotten than ever, as one after Another., sympathetically remarks with a merry twinkle of the eye, "Sold Sgain, Sol."
