In connection with the arrest of Smith and Ross for (he Horshniu Bank rohlx ry, Ross, who i« •• i suspected of bring actually e< ncerne I m the robbery, has turned Qiuuu'o evidence. The cnse opened at Horsham on Friday. It appears that the clue was got at bj* Smith paying inlo ilu: Union Bank, Melbourne, thirly-six j-10 notes of the 1 'London Chartered Bank, which were earth-stained. He succeeded m getting* a draft on Albnry for the auioiii-t, vrher<* he got the money, and arrnii<red with Ross to B<lect land, handing over the money t<i Rok6, who, however, hanked it some time afterwards. The police, who had been keeping an eye on Smith, arrested them both. In ths trial the evidence ■proved that Smith, previously to the discovery of th** robbery, had been paving clu-qtifs and notes other thau the Chartered Bank notes.
