In the Supreme Court a curious case '^iaSrocfledincr. Il is Sauuders v' Babot, an action to compel performance of »n , agreement. The plaintiff and two sons bt'thclite James Saunders, alias " Jimmy th'e i. Needle," » former ferryman on the WaiUki, by his wife Wixon (a Maoii hAlfVcaste), allege that, m 1859 •Babot, a farmer m Timarn, sold towi; section 19 to deceased for £30 ; that he Bubseqhently burned the agreement, j and held possession of the section, which was now of great vahie. It wai sought to compel defendant to carry out v the agreement and restore the land, with all profits, rents &c.,- which hare iface f accrued. The case is proceeding. : :' ..' ' ■..■ . ,■•... Later. . The Supreme Court has been occupied r.'-tjflU day with the case Saunders and ':•$ Mother V. Babot, claim for restitution of laud or its equiyalent. The case is a "most complicated one, as the transac tions date back as far as 1859. It will "bc'continutd to-morrow. "S&tthe Supreme Court, the case of v. Cabot, a claim for restoration of land, was concluded," the jury returning a verdict for plaintiff on nearly all issues. Judgment was deferred pending the argument on certain law points. .
