There is no pumping engine m the /jfe.orld that can be compared with the monster. At ey,etyr,e volution' of its ponderous wheels. it throws.out a little, river. The engine worfiS with a- smoothness that is astonishing 'and th'eW- is- riot the slightest j»r observahle m any of its parts m the engine house. Previous to March, 1884. it had been idle for a period of *even and a half yoaiN.
