i ■<» i _Mr Dickell, contractor for the converI sion of Gillett's buildings into a Salvu- { linn Army Barracks, had the misfortune j l<» fall off tho building this afternoon, I anil sustained rather severe injuries. After partially recovering frorn'tho effects of tho cail ho started to Bee the doctor, but when opposite the Standard otfice, was seixed with a fainting fit, which caused him to lose his presence of mind, lie would havo fallen to the ground, but for the prompt assistance of Messrs Lough and Jessop, who supported him till he regained consciousness. One of his men then went with him to doctor Macintire who found that Dickell had sustained a cut on the head, through coining into contact with an adze m the fall, and that his collar bone was dislocated; and his chest bruised. It is possible he may not be able to resume work for some tew weeks. It appears that he stepped on a loose' plank m the building which tilted up with him, precipitating , him, to the ground, a distance of some 12 feet. We are sorry to learn that Dickel does not belong to any Friendly Society. His misfortune is all the more Serious on that account, and also from the fact that for some time past he has been out of employment.
