(united pkess association.) Dun cdi n, Tuesday. The question of what constitutes a sufficient notice to a Volunteer, to. attend a parade came up m Court, when a member" of the South Dunedin Rifles was charged by hid Captain with absenting himself without leave from a Government parade. The Act provides that notice of parade must be issued m a manner customary m Her Majesty's military service, which means verbally. Counsel for the prosecution arcjued that as there was no por tion of Her Majesty's forces m the Colony; the custom of calling a parade by advertisement should be regarded as sufficient. The cane was adjourned for further evidence on this point.
