POLITICAL NEWS.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Grisymouth, Friday. Mr Guinness, M.H.R., addressed a large meeting of his constituents at the Public Hall last evening, the Mayor being m the chair. He spoke over two hours m reviewing his own acts and the work of the session. He was listened to attentively throughout, and received a hearty vote of coniidence at the close. An amendment of no confidence was proposed, but only one hand was held up for it.

OhrtstCHUKCH, Friday. Mr John Holmes, M.H.R. for Christchurch South, addressed his constituents last night, and received an unanimous vote of thanks and confidence He promised to give the Government a general support, and strongly advocatod the protection of the industries of the Colony.
