To New Subscribers.
. J .A number -of how subscribers whose names have come to hand from various •agents to-day, enquire if thej' will receive a supplement with their paper on Saturday. We regret to say that our present supply is quite inadequate to existing requirements, and until the additional number ordered comes to hand we must distribute them as fairly as possible, of course giving precedence to old subscribers. Subscribers new or old must not m any sense regard the supplying of a supplement every Saturday as part of our contract, with them. They subscribe to the paper itself, from which the supplement is entirely separate, although no charge is made for it. K&. scon as our order for an additional supply can be fulfilled all regular subscriber* will be supplied, though we cannot m all cases undertake to supply country agents with supplements. The Wairarapa papers charge subscribers 6s 6d m advance and 7s 6d at end of quarter, while the Standard is only 5s m advance and 6s 6d at end of quartor and gives a fourteencolnmn supplement every Saturday into the bargain.
