Our subscribers must bear m mind that it is no part uf our contract with th siu iadividiuliy to supply them with a gratis supplement on Saturday. The auipun^ ; they' pay for subscription : jf»*'"4wv» the . paper only, and. the supplement is entirely outside of our contract, sp that those not receiving it at present can have no cause of complaint against us. At the time we ordered, we made allowance for an increased circulation, but not at the rapid rate which has since taken place, and which we are glad to say is still going on. Ah soon as the full additional number .ordered comes to hand, copies will bo sent with each paper ; meantime we must use our best discretion in -.making the number received go as far as it will. The Standard is the only paper p^, the We-it Coaist which issues a fourteen* column supplement weekly, and we trust our readers will appreciate our desire to afford thiin entertaining reading for Saturday nights' peru-al. Thfe opening chapters of the new novel willi be found of engroaa'ng interest, and the other matter have evidently been very judiciously selected with a view to interest, amuse, or instruct readers both m town and country. • •! ■
