School Committee.

. The usual monthly meeting of the above Committee, was held last Evening, j ; Present :~Mr J. P. Leary (chairpian), Messrs Stewart, Walton, Hoaking.'Haw- j kins, and Woodroofe. '. ! „ The minutes of last meeting-were read and confirmed. ' ! Mr Watson apologised for not for- 1 wardiug report', owing to Miss Schofield's absence at the Terrace End School •and the examination going on. ' " . A letter from Inspector Bindon to the Chairman of the Committee was! read ! suggesting tho appointment of one of the assistants temporarily to the Terrace End School. The Chairman explained to the meeting his action m closing the Terrace End School through the, jllneusi of Mrs iiarvey and also of appointing : Miss Schofield for tho time.
