SPORTING NEWS.
A few days ago the Taranaki Jockey Club, at their annual meeting, passed a resolution that members' wives should have the same privileges as their hus-i' bands m respect to admission to the course, grand stand, &c. It was suggested that some provision should be made to prevent unscrupulous members bringing. in one lady and then going out and bringing m another. After discussion, it was decided to leave it to the honour of members not to have more than one wife on those occasions.
