An exceedingly narrow \ escape from what might have been a 'caw of certain death occurred at Wanganuion Monday. .As the people wens returning from the racecourse about dusk Fred Potto, the well-known, jockey, whh standing on Iho railway Hue at the junction of Churton and 1 imcitie Streets. The whittle of a locomotive wus suddenly heard from the direction of the railway stut.ou, but Potto did hoi move from bis dangerous portion.'
