The hght v of 35,000 candle power, and will make an object clearly visible at a distance of 1500 yards. The trial was a success, considering that the engine was not a powerful one. Kumaba, Tuesday. John. Biggs while working m the l^chborne tail race this morning was washed down the sludge channel ' head foremost. He crawled quietly away, and is now m the hospital. Except a scalp wound, which is not senoua, and bruises on the arms, he is not much hurt. Auckland, Tm sday. Selby Callag dropped dead near the Harbor Board offices.
